Alkborough turf maze, also known as Julian’s Bower, sits high on the Trent Ridge at in the charming village of Alkborough. Cut by Monks in the 12th Century, the site offers panoramic views across the confluence of the rivers Trent, Ouse and Humber; reputedly you can see the towers of York Minster on a clear day. The maze is also depicted on the floor of the near by Church of Saint John the Baptist.
